 The Pools

On Saturday I went to the pools with my brother and my nephews.

First thing I did was I went on the slide, it was fun.

I spent most of the time in the pools with my nephews.

Then we went home and had a bbq.

Recount writing - Party In The Park by Ivanka

 On saturday my family and I went to the party in the park.There were food shops on the side of the park,there were also face painters bouncy castles.. 

I ate pizza and drank fizzy drinks.There were also bands that were singing.. Known as three houses down. I also saw my cousins and other family members at the party in the park. 

I had loads of fun, bouncing on the bouncy castle and getting my face painted, and also spending time with my family . After the party in the park, my family and I went home and relaxed.

 In the garden we planted carrots and pumpkins and also watered the garden. The teacher we planted and helped out in the garden was one of the students' mother. 

We also went to the back of the garden and our teacher showed us a pumpkin that was cut into pieces, after that we went into the hall and we ate quiches made by students in my class and with the help of Miss Helena. They were so nice and delicious ..

My Pappa passed away.

I went to his Burial.

There were Doves that flew to Pappa.

I wear a Memorial T-shirt and Tongan Traditional Mat.

 Kia ora koutou room 10!

I hope you and your family are safe and well.

We have had a great start to Garden to Table with you all. I have been so impressed with you all, we have got a lot done in the two weeks we have been doing GTT:

• Wheelbarrow license
• Planting seedlings in the garden
• Weeding
• Planting seeds

We have also done some yummy cooking! It has been lovely to sit down with you all after hard work in the garden. Thank you kitchen peeps!

When we get back to school we have some cool things planned for our GTT sessions. I have bough the seedlings home so I can water and care for them while you are at home (see the pic).

I have sent the recipe from last week that the kitchen group made: Silverbeet and Cheese muffins. They were very yum! You may like to make them at home with help from an adult :) Please share a photo if you do make them!

I would also like to see any pictures of your gardens at home - share and tell me about them :)

I am also curious  - what do you call a garden in other languages you may know?

Room 10 enjoying Silverbeat Quiche during Garden to Table program. Most of the vegetables came from our gardens like silverbeat, tomatoes, herbs. This is a great way of making students lear about gardening and cooking.
